Pelvic Floor Yoga sessions are for those with hypertonic or hypotonic pelvic floors. Yoga for your pelvic floor sessions are pelvic floor focused; each pose is carefully chosen to help & support your pelvis & its surrounding muscles.
A hypertonic pelvic floor is commonly referred to as an overactive pelvic floor. When the pelvic floor muscles are in this state, relaxing or moving functionally, becomes difficult causing painful urination, bowel movements, sexual intercourse and more. Sessions are geared toward relaxing your entire pelvis.
A hypotonic pelvic floor is commonly referred to as having muscles that are too long or too weak. When the pelvic floor muscles are in this state, dysfunction usually comes in the form of incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and more.
If you are a combination of both, we will need to address the tight muscles first.
Pre & Post Natal Corrective Exercise lens: if you are planning on having children one day, pelvic floor symptoms present prior to conception usually become exasperated during your pregnancy.
